How do I import users?

An administrator can upload multiple user accounts via text file in Settings > Site administration> Users > Accounts > Upload users.

To Upload/Import users follow these steps:

  1. Create file for uploading. You need to have a csv file in the prescribed format as mentioned in Moodle docs.
  2. Go to Settings > Site administration> Users > Accounts > Upload users.
  3. Add file to upload.
  4. Upload users preview - check settings and default user profile settings.
  5. Upload users preview - click "Upload users".
  6. Upload users preview - Shows list of users, exceptions made in upload and summary of number of users.
  7. Upload users results - click "continue".
  8. Return to upload users screen.
